Supplier Report Card is the evolution of the Visteon Supplier Scorecard System. In addition to Quality and Delivery Ratings, Report Card has been designed to allow inclusion of Commercial and Technical Ratings in the future to measure a supplier's overall performance. Like it's predecessor, Report Card is a web-based application that tracks and reports Visteon supplier performance data, based on a standard set of metrics defined by Visteon. The application draws together data that is captured in operational systems throughout Visteon, and consolidates it into one location for easier use. The Quality and Delivery Ratings are currently based on supplier performance to Visteon plants using CMMS, a manufacturing resource planning system.
This tool provides Supplier performance data that can
be used to:
-
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
-
Improve communications through standardized data.
-
Measure Supplier performance to support operational processes.
Visteon users access Report Card via the external Visteon home page. Suppliers access it through the http://www.visteon.com/suppliers/current_suppliers.html web page. The sharing of this information is considered to be fundamental to effective partnering within the supply chain.
Presentation of this data on the Web is based on some simple principles:
-
Data is held on a Supplier-by-Supplier basis. Each supplier site has a 5 character code – known as a GSDB code.
-
Each site has a parent code, 4 characters long. A parent code can have one or many site codes associated with it. If a parent code has sites supplying distinctively different commodities, the sites in a particular commodity may be grouped together into Negotiating Entities (NE). The Negotiating Entity functionality will become more relevant with the introduction on Technical and Commercial ratings.
-
Visteon users can see all Suppliers' data. Suppliers can see only their own data.
-
A large amount of detailed data supports Report Card. This is pulled together into summaries that allow an overview of performance across all metrics. Supporting detail can be accessed by drilling down through the metrics detail.
-
The Report Card data is not intended to replace the point-in-time process of communicating issues to Suppliers e.g. Communication of QRs by Plants. Report Card is intended to provide a performance history that displays trends over time.
