Each supplier site is uniquely identified by a five
character codes known as a GSDB code. Each site code has a 4 character
parent code. A parent code may have multiple site codes associated with it.
The Visteon commodity buyer can provide details of site and parent codes.
Security / "Corporate Security Administration" Role
To assure proper administration of the User ID’s,
Visteon has designed a security system for use with Visteon Supplier Report Card System.
This system allows you to assign a security administrator for your Parent site / company.
This person will have company wide responsibility for creating and maintaining User ID’s for Report Card access.
This Corporate Security Administrator (CSA) can then create subordinate administrators at the site level to
manage the workload of maintaining User ID’s.
It is important to choose the right person to serve as the CSA to make security
work smoothly. The CSA should typically be someone at the corporate level who already has
responsibility for Information Systems Security. Visteon recommends that you choose someone
who manages IDs for multiple departments.
The CSA will also serve as a point of communication for Visteon Systems.
When Visteon Systems needs to communicate information regarding connectivity to your users,
we will contact your CSA. The CSA will be responsible for communicating
the information to the users within your company.
Conversely, we would like the CSA to work as a contact
point within your company for systems issues that need to be communicated to
Visteon. For instance, if a user is unable to connect to our web site he/she
should contact an administrator in your company about the problem.
The CSA can then call the Visteon Security Administrator to verify whether the
problem is with a Visteon host. Issues relating to browser usage or security
should be handled by the local administrator or local help desk at your company.
Finally, Visteon will provide some training materials
on the Internet that will explain how to create and manage User ID’s using
the Visteon Web Security System. After visiting the Internet site,
your CSA will be able to create the necessary ID’s to give your personnel
access to the Visteon web applications.
Visteon Supplier Report Card System Content / "Business Metrics Sponsor" Role
The Visteon Supplier Report Card System delivers the following Supplier performance information:
- Quality status indicators such as Quality System Status and PPAP
- Quality Reject (QR) data
- Parts Per Million Reject data
- Quality Ratings
- Delivery Ratings
- Further metrics will be added to the Report over time.
It is important to identify a person who will act as the
Report Card "Business Metrics Sponsor" (BMS). The Business Metrics Sponsor can and is responsible for updating supplier information in Report Card.
Roles of the Business Metrics Sponsor include:
- Gain administrative access to Report Card from the CSA
- Ensure the following supplier information is entered in to Report Card and kept up to date:
- Quality System status and date
- Main Supplier contact information (QC Manager, Logistic Manager, Plant Manager)
- Additional Contact information
This person will have company wide responsibility for making
updates in Report Card. If the BMS wants to share their corporate
responsibility with others at the site level they simply need to ask their
CSA set up subordinate administrators at the site level.
The most likely candidate to serve in this capacity would be a corporate
level employee with responsibility for managing one or more of these metrics,
or responsibility for the EXTERNAL performance improvement programs.
